Modisett Ball Park is a historic baseball field built in the 1940s thanks to a generous donation from bachelor ranchers Albert and Mayre Modisett. Once home to the renowned Rushville Baseball School in the 1950s and 1960s, the park hosted try-out camps for teams like the Milwaukee Braves and Los Angeles Angels.
When the park fell into disrepair, the community came together—raising $100,000 in just 45 days to meet a challenge by Rushville native John Gottschalk, who matched the funds and helped secure additional grants to restore the field.
Today, Modisett Ball Park features a classic green grandstand and remains a beloved venue for baseball games and community pride. Visiting teams are always welcome to enjoy its storied field and vibrant atmosphere.
